When a client is happy about something you’ve done for them, say,

“Thank you, glad to hear it! By the way, would you mind if I used that as a testimonial?”

 

Another way to collect testimonials is to call satisfied clients and tell them you’d like to let others know how they can get the same great service. Would they mind helping you out by giving you a testimonial?

Now for the Formula:

  1. Ask what was the initial problem, fear or doubt they had before coming to you
  2. Prompt them to tell you how you solved their problem or overcame their fear
  3. Ask about the result they received, such as how long it lasted, how it made them feel and look better… Be as descriptive and concrete as possible.

Use your rapport with your clients to make these questions conversational. You can do this in person or when you receive a compliment for your service over the phone.

Use what they said to write the testimonial according to the problem-solution-result formula. Email or read the crafted testimonial back to them and get their OK to share it. Make sure you can use an abbreviated form of their name and their city.
