Massage Therapist in Fredericksburg VA: Salon Plaza’s Chosen Expert!

Salon_Plaza_Fredericksburg_Massage Therapist David_Hyde_2Announcing Salon Plaza’s FIRST Massage Therapist Member of the Month:

David Hyde, Owner of D. Hyde Therapeutic Massage in Fredericksburg, VA
“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass… It’s about learning to dance in the rain.”  ― Vivian Greene
Before becoming a Certified Massage Therapist, I worked in the automotive industry for 30 plus years. Back then, I saw a need.

People struggle with pain and depression. Seeing this got me very interested in studying how the muscles control a person’s body.

With massage, I saw a way to help

I felt called to change careers and focus on healing people with massage therapy. I took my time to carefully choose the school that felt right: Northern Virginia School of Therapeutic Massage.

After finishing massage training and getting licensed, in April 2013 I opened D. Hyde Therapeutic Massage right here at Salon Plaza. The studio fit exactly what I needed to get started. At first, I did massage just on the weekends and evenings for about 5 months, until I got laid off from my full-time job in the auto industry.

Sometimes a “curse” turns out to be a “blessing”

I felt this was where I belonged – at Salon Plaza as a massage therapist. I am determined to make it happen.

Right now I see eight to sixteen people a week, which more than covers my expenses. I still work part time in the auto industry just a few days to fill in. I plan to be full time soon.
