Design Your Own Salon – Hairstylist in Fredericksburg VA Tells All

How To Design Your Own Salon

“The beauty industry is the only place I know that gives instant gratification that turns a frown upside down. That’s why I’m so enthusiastic about designing my own salon.”  ~ Tait Schneider, Fredericksburg, VA.

As a beauty specialist, I’m an aesthetics person. A design must be aesthetically pleasing or I won’t buy. At Salon Plaza, I like the way everything flows in here. It’s “user-friendly”.

This single chair salon design in our industry is taking off.

It’s the ideal situation. You don’t have to worry about maintenance, a down payment, or hiring employees. It makes running a salon or spa business simpler. You only have to think about yourself and your clients. All the stylists are here showing you the way.

It’s a win-win.Beauty Salon Fredericksburg VA Tait Schneider - design your own salon

As beauty specialists, artists and compassionate people, our job is to find the beauty in each person and bring it out.

Everybody is beautiful. As an artist, I take my client’s personality into consideration. It’s part of who they are. Their look must be individualized.

This is a natural talent that wasn’t taught to me by anyone. It’s who I’ve been as a person, from a really young age.

I love the relationship I develop with my clients. It’s a challenge. Within five minutes I must gain their trust. They must almost instantly get to…

“Ok, I’ll let you do this for me and pay you for it.”

My clients have faith in me, and I have it in them. We journey together to get the results they want. And if they don’t like it, we can change it. It’s fun.

My clients become more to me than ‘just clients’. They become my friends.

Before opening my single-chair beauty salon in May 2012, I was apprehensive about being able to meet my lease every week and stay current in a beauty industry that’s always changing.

Salon Plaza has helped me succeed both professionally and personally. When making a step like this, the support you get makes all the difference. Julie Badura, our Area Representative, and Maggie, the Fredericksburg Plaza Leader, have helped me a lot. Julie was sincere, honest and realistic with me. She worked with me right from the start to get my feet wet in running a salon.

Salon Plaza is more than just a landlord.

The Ratner family has a long history in the salon business. Their policies support me as an owner. They set high standards for us as professionals.  We have enough structure to succeed and have everything we need. They truly want us to succeed.

Yes, I have my own business. But at Salon Plaza, I don’t feel like I’m alone. They sincerely care and want me to succeed. If I was just leasing a space somewhere completely on my own, I wouldn’t have that support and guidance from people who have been through the same challenges and made it.

I’m working smarter, not harder.

I got to a point in my life when it was on me. There was no one else to do it. By owning it, I’ve become more confident with myself, personally and professionally. If you don’t have confidence, you won’t be successful at anything.

“I sincerely wake up some mornings and have to pinch myself because I feel like this can’t be real.”

If you asked me what 3 things are most important to me in my career, I would say it’s

  1. Bringing out the beauty in everyone who sits in my chair
  2. Learning from other beauty industry pros
  3. Having the flexibility to set my own schedule

At Salon Plaza, you are not alone. Everyone here has been where you are now. If you are passionate about owning it and believe in yourself, you can make it happen. You’ll be surprised how quickly you can build your book and succeed. Don’t second guess yourself.

If you want to own and design your own salon, it’s here to take.
