Beauty Salon Professional: Easy Way To Find Your PASSION!

beauty salon owner success, own a salonThe world belongs to beauty salon professionals who…

…reach out and grab it with both hands. It belongs to those who take action rather than just wish and hope and pray. Do you intend to do something someday, when everything is just right?

What separates successful beauty salon owners from the rest is the ability to take action toward a worthwhile goal.

Last night some friends and I went out for Chinese food. At the end of an enjoyable meal, I opened my fortune cookie and read the saying meant “just for me.”

Here’s what it said,

“A man without aim is like a clock without hands, as useless as if it turns as if it stands.”

Benjamin Franklin wrote, “Do you value life? Then waste not time, for that is the stuff of which life is made.” How much of your time are you spending to acquire what you truly value? This is an important question to consider, even before you begin.

Deciding what you are passionate about is the starting point in getting the best out of your life. Only by discovering your passions and working toward fulfilling them can you get the greatest amount of satisfaction, enjoyment, and happiness from everything you do.

Let’s find out what can give you the highest rewards for your efforts…

Take this easy Passion Test – the results might surprise you!

Here’s what you’ll need: A piece of lined paper, a pen, and a pair of scissors.

Now turn off all distractions. Turn off the TV, turn off your phone, turn off any music with lyrics. It’s just YOU and your paper & pen. Bring your MIND BODY and SOUL to bear.

One more bit of preparation and we’ll get started. Number every 3rd line from 1 to 10. You’ll eventually be cutting the paper. By leaving lines between the numbers, it will be easy to separate your answers into strips.

Now imagine yourself feeling really happy and fulfilled. Stay there for a minute or two, and think about what you’d like your life to be about. Who do you spend time with? What do you own? Where are you?

Next, list the most important things that come to mind about your fulfilling life. DON’T JUDGE or over think this. Just write. (You can’t make a mistake. Nothing is set in stone. You can do this many times over the next few months.)

1.

2.

3.

10.

Ok. Take out your scissors and cut 10 strips of your Passions – your Keys to Happiness. Turn them over so you can’t see what you wrote and mix them up. Now pick any 2 and turn them over. If you could only have ONE of those two, which would you prefer? Follow your gut on this.

Keep the preferred choice in your hand and put other in a separate pile, face up. Pick another Key to Happiness. If you could only choose one, which goal holds the most attraction? Keep your preferred one in your hand and add the other to your pile. Keep going through your Passion Keys until all but one is in the pile. Mark the “winner” with an “A”.

Turn your pile over, and pick TWO more. Start the process again. This time, mark the winner with a “B”. Do this process until you have marked each of your 10 Passions Keys with a letter, A through J.

Finally, lay them out in the new order, A through J. The top 5 are your Passion Keys to Happiness – your most important goals in your life right now. Will these change? Of course. Clarity is a point in time. Start with where you are right now in your life and allow room for change as you gain new experiences and grow as a person.

Now take out a note card, piece of construction paper, or just another sheet of notepaper. At the top write: “I am happiest when I am…”. Then list your top 5 Passions on the paper. Put the date on the bottom or the back.

Decorate it, add a photo of you or something you want. Make it something really pleasant and desirable for you to look at. Post it on your bathroom mirror. You can make copies and place them where you spend your time – in your car, on the refrigerator door, in your purse.

Whatever you focus on in your life grows stronger. Whenever you are faced with a choice or opportunity, choose in favor of your passions. Even small choices add up to a lifetime of outcomes. Develop the habit of focusing your thoughts, heart, and actions on what you want most in your life.

We are at our best and happiest when we are fully engaged in work we enjoy toward a goal we’ve established for ourselves. It gives meaning to our leisure and a peaceful night’s sleep. Living with passion makes everything else in life more wonderful and worthwhile.
