Kinda Hamm, Owner of Heavenly Hair – A phenomenal hairstylist whose FAITH gives her WINGS

Here’s How Her Dream Became A Reality…

Salon Plaza Richmond VA Kinda Hamm
After becoming a licensed cosmetologist I worked for 8 years in someone else’s space. I dreamed of owning my own salon with no overhead or stylists to manage but didn’t know where to find it.

God Led Me To It

One day I was doing a little shopping at Fountain Square in Richmond VA. God told me to go next door.

There it was – exactly what I’d been dreaming about… a place to run my own studio salon and never have to worry about employees, overhead, or getting a loan.

I opened my doors on February 15, 2002 in one of the smaller studios. A year later when a larger space became available, I moved into it.

Read more about how Heavenly Hair got started.

“God will work with you, but not for you.”

The hardest thing about getting started as a salon owner is the fear of not having enough.

“Where would clients come from?”

“Would they be consistent?”

“Would I be able to pay my rent?”

The Key? Be Loyal – Be Here – Be Consistent

My work is phenomenal, very professional, with no drama. My specialty is repairing damaged hair and keeping it healthy. A lot of clients come with damaged hair. Watching the transformation is a real boost for me.

What Keeps Me At Salon Plaza?

I love the environment. We are in a high traffic center with the main anchor stores being Friendly’s, Big Lots, and Joanne Fabrics. There is lots of shopping and entertainment for the whole family nearby.

My clients enjoy the privacy, and there’s plenty of parking. They provide me with everything I need to run my salon. If something isn’t working right, they come and fix it, no problem!

My work schedule is just the way I want it, giving me the time to raise my son. This is exactly what I’ve been dreaming about.

If this sounds at all like you, then… What are you waiting for?

I love owning my own salon. I’m my own manager, make my own rules, and set my own hours. I independently run my salon the way I choose, without the overhead of a full salon.

As a business owner, I understand that my clients are my boss. It is my responsibility to please them. Salon Plaza provides me with the flexibility to give my clients what they need and deserve.

My studio space is truly a benefit

I am blessed to have loyal clients who like the privacy and one-on-one time with me. They appreciate the education I give them on haircare, and the quality services they receive.

What I like best about running my business out of a Plaza Studio is the feeling of being independent within a community.

What our professional community asks is that we keep our standards high
