Kinda Hamm, Owner of Heavenly Hair – A phenomenal salon owner whose FAITH gives her WINGS
After becoming a licensed cosmetologist I worked for 8 years in someone else’s space. I dreamed of owning my own salon with no overhead or stylists to manage, but didn’t know where to find it.
God Led Me To It
One day when I was doing a little shopping at Fountain Square, God told me to go next door. There it was – exactly what I’d been dreaming about… a place to run my own studio salon and never have to worry about employees, overhead, or getting a loan.
I opened my doors on February 15, 2002 in one of the smaller studios. A year later when a larger space became available, I moved into it. Read more about how Heavenly Hair got started.
“God will work with you, but not for you.”
The hardest thing about getting started as a salon owner is the fear of not having enough.
“Where would clients come from?”
“Would they be consistent?”
“Would I be able to pay my rent?”
Be Loyal – Be Here – Be Consistent
My work is phenomenal, very professional, with no drama. My specialty is repairing damaged hair and keeping it healthy. A lot of clients come with damaged hair. Watching the transformation is a real boost for me.
What Keeps Me At Salon Plaza?
I love the environment. We are in a high traffic center with the main anchor stores being Friendly’s, Big Lots and Joanne Fabrics. There is lots of shopping and entertainment for the whole family nearby.
My clients enjoy the privacy, and there’s plenty of parking. Salon Plaza provides everything I need to run my salon. If something isn’t working right, they come and fix it, no problem!
Meet Tishawna Pritchett, Owner of Shawn’s Hair N More
Certified Instructor, Healthy Haircare Specialist, Tishawana has a passion for teaching total selfcare for women.
“The beauty of women inside and out inspires me. I have a passion for helping women find their passion. To discover yours, you must know who you are and be comfortable with yourself.”
As a business owner, I understand that my clients are my boss. It is my responsibility to please them. And Salon Plaza provides me with the flexibility to give my clients what they need and deserve.
My studio space is truly a benefit
I am blessed to have loyal clients who like the privacy and one-on-one time with me. They appreciate the education I give them on haircare, and the quality services they receive.
What I like best about running my business out of a Salon Plaza Studio is the feeling of being independent within a community.
What our Community asks is that we be professional and keep high standards
Rachel Vicari, Owner of “A Cut To Dye For” Reveals How She Steadily Builds Her Clientele…
Before you open your own salon, make sure you have enough clientele to support yourself. To be steady year round you need 150 to 200 clients. The secret is to have a reason for clients to keep coming back.
If you are my client, you’ll get a great cut with a unique look that gives you lots of compliments. At A Cut To Dye For, I put you at ease, gain your trust, and make you want to come back.
Be Different or DYE! (LOL)
With the competition for your clients, if you don’t carve out a unique space for yourself, you will be just one more hair place in town. I’m most known for creating highlights that are different and striking.
If you’d like to meet our community of salon owners, then just come on in and take a tour…
We’re DYEING to Meet YOU!
